Charles is the CTO for M&E business in APJ & GC. Charles was previously Head of Technology at broadcaster Nine Network Australia - where he oversaw the business and technology transformation required to adopt a fully digital file-based workflow across News and Transmission, including construction of state of the art broadcast facilities and hands-on experience at major Open Broadcasters (OBs). He served as Chair of the Free TV Australia Engineering Committee and was Director of Global Television (now NEP Australia) and Director of TX Australia. 

Charles is driving converged technology solutions for digital media and analytics of scale-out data repositories.  He promotes collaborative solutions with leading solution vendors to yield excellent results for Dell EMC’s customers.


Frank Asta, Dell Technologies Global Chief Technologist & Principal Architect is responsible for the Dell Technologies strategy and architectures for Media, Channels & Broadcast based integrated solutions internationally and Global Cloud and Storage Solutions for what will be the largest Media Content Company. His work involves Digital, IT, workforce and security transformational solutions through cross functional utilization from our Dell Technologies family of Dell EMC, Legacy Dell, VMware, Pivotal, RSA, Virtustream, Dell Boomi and SecureWorks as well as partnering/qualifying solutions with multiple Media ISVs for true integrated solutions.


Gregory Shiff, Advisory Solution Architect for Media and & Entertainment, has spent his career at the confluence of media and technology with roles at various integration, storage, and software companies. At Dell EMC, he focuses on content creation workflows as they relate to high performance storage and related technologies. Gregory joins Dell EMC from Quantum Corporation where he worked with a range of visual FX, editorial, and finishing houses to design storage systems that manage performance and archive. Prior to Quantum, Gregory was Director of Technical Sales at the media asset management company Levels Beyond, building content management systems for major broadcasters’ throughout North America. In all of his roles, Gregory has solved business and technology challenges to allow creatives to focus on making great content. Matthew Allard


James Corrigan, Advisory Solution Architect for Media & Entertainment, focuses on how Dell EMC technologies enhance media applications and workflows, at a global scale. With over 10 years’ experience working in the M&E and Technology industry, he was previously the IT Infrastructure Architect for Sky Network Television, where he acted as a bridge between broadcast and technology, taking broadcast requirements and translating them into technology solutions. James has a strong background in virtualization and cloud technologies and how they impact broadcasting and new age OTT solutions, which hold the key for understanding the TV station of the future.


Matt recently joined the Dell Precision workstations team to lead strategic alliances for the Media and Entertainment industry, working closely with Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), customers and technology partners. He has more than 20 years of experience within the tech sector, and prior to Dell, he held marketing and product management roles at Autodesk, Avid Technology, Schneider Electric, Microsoft Softimage, Media 100 and X-Rite.  Matthew lives with his family in the greater Boston area and loves movies, seafood and checking out live bands.


Paul Honrud is the Dell CTO for Unstructured Data File and Object Storage Management. Paul brings more than 27 years of experience in data management and storage along with a wealth of knowledge in growing technology based businesses. He is the Founder of DataFrameworks, technology focused on large scale data management, which was acquired by Dell in August 2018.  Paul is an inventor on U.S. Patent No. 7,672,854 "Data Storage Management Driven By Business Objectives" and authored U.S. Patent No. 7,430,513 "Data Storage Management Driven By Business Objectives"  Mr. Honrud served in business development roles at Baydel, and Systems Industries. Mr. Honrud holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and a Masters Of Business Administration from San Diego State University.


Simon Haywood is the Dell EMC CTO for Media and Entertainment in EMEA - focusing on workflows, solutions and outcomes for customers across the region. He brings to the role experience of diverse challenges from across the industry, and a natural familiarity with the product portfolio of Dell EMC.

Simon has extensive industry experience - specialising in media asset management, content creation, real-time operations and news and sports - working with vendors and partners from across the globe to design, validate and optimise solutions.

Prior to joining the Dell EMC team, Simon worked for both the BBC and ITN in the United Kingdom, and was an independent broadcast consultant working on a number of projects across the globe. Simon has designed and implemented solutions for large multi-channel news operations, has architected innovative workflows to enable geo-dispersed newsgathering teams, and has supported environments ranging from educational institutions, to major broadcasters, to online video portals.


Thomas Burns, Dell EMC’s CTO for Media & Entertainment, was previously responsible for re-engineering Technicolor’s global file-based workflows, and developed HDR imaging solutions for episodic and feature post-production. He has built a boutique VFX facility in Shanghai, and a CG animation feature studio in Toronto. Prior to that, Burns was the architect of Oxygen Media’s (now NBC/Universal) storage and networking infrastructure in Manhattan’s Chelsea Market. Burns began his career at Silicon Graphics, Inc., developing Maya animation software and managing digital disk recorder products. 


Shak Malik is VMware Global Director, Industry Strategic Alliances. He is a technology leader with over 20+ expertise in virtualization, cloud and driving standards across various vertical industries. He has is focused on helping the Media and Entertainment industry adopt best practices to improve virtualization performance while reducing cost while securing the environments and solutions
